HrMs O 21 (Lt.Cdr. J.F. van Dulm, RNN) departed from East London for Diego Suarez. Upon leaving East London A/S exercises were carried out with HMS Sondra (T/Lt. W.P. Hart, RNR). (1)

HMS Sondra (T/Lt. W.P. Hart, RNR) picks up 45 survivors from the British steam merchant Sheaf Crown that was torpedoed and damaged by the German U-boat U-160 east-north-east of East London in position 31°49'N, 31°11'E.
