HMCS New Glasgow (Lt.Cdr. G.S. Hall, RCNR) arrived at Halifax, from Esquimalt on Canada's west coast.
23 Mar 1945
German U-boat U-1003 was scuttled in the Northern Channel about 8 to 10 nautical miles north of Inistrahull beacon (Malin Head), in position 55°25'N, 06°53'W, after ramming with Canadian frigate HMCS New Glasgow (Lt.Cdr. R.M. Hanbury) on 20 March 1945.
