History | Passenger / cargo (ref.) vessel completed in March 1929. Requisitioned by the Admiralty in October 1940 while in Canada. Converted to Ocean boarding vessel at Bermuda completing in April 1941. Displacement: 8194 GRT. Dimensions: 128.1 x 18.1. Armament: 2 6" guns (2x1), 1 12pdr AA gun. Speed: 14 knots. HMS Lady Somers (Cdr. George Learmouth Dunbar, RD, RNR) was torpedoed and sunk in the North Atlantic by the Italian submarine Morosini on 15 July 1941. |
