L-15 and L-16 depart from Petropavlovsk to join the Russian Northern fleet through Dutch Harbor, Alaska, San Francisco, California, the Panama Canal, Halifax, Canada and the United Kingdom.
After repairs at Greenock, Scotland, L-15 joins the Northern fleet.
19 May 1943
HMS Syrtis (Lt. M.H. Jupp, DSC, RN) departed the Clyde area for Scapa Flow. She made the passage North through the Minches together with the Soviet submarine L-15. They were escorted by HMS La Capricieuse (Lt.Cdr.(G.W. Dobson, RNR). (1)

L-15 attacked a German convoy of the Syltefjord in position 70°48'N, 29°26'E. She fires three torpedoes against what is identified as an auxiliary minesweeper. All torpedoes however missed their target.

L-15 fires six torpedoes against what is identified as a German minelayer off the Porsangerfjord. All torpedoes missed their target.

The German auxiliary patrol vessel NH 24 is sunk when she hits a mine of the Altafjord in position 71°01'N, 24°00'E. The mine was most likely laid by the Soviet submarine L-15 on 15 August 1943.
