HMS Gorleston (Cdr.(Retd.) R.W. Keymer, RN) picks up 26 survivors from the British merchant St. Clair II that was torpedoed and sunk west-northwest of the Canary Islands in position 30°25'N, 23°35'W by German U-boat U-67.
HMS Gorleston also picks up 68 survivors from the British merchant John Holt and 47 survivors from the British merchant Lafian that were torpedoed and sunk by German U-boat U-107 southwest of Madeira in position 31°12'N, 23°32'W.
19 Aug 1942
HMS Gorleston (Cdr.(Retd.) R.W. Keymer, RN) picks up 49 survivors from the British merchant City of Manila that was torpedoed and sunk by German U-boat U-406 west of Cape Finisterre in position 43°21'N, 18°20'W.
