20 Jan 1945
At 10.55 hours on 20 January 1945, the Razyarenniy was hit north of the Rybachiy peninsula in position 70°00'N, 32°10'E by a Gnat torpedo from German U-boat U-293 while escorting convoy KP-1. Razyarenniy was hit in the after part and lost a part of the stern. The crew managed to keep the ship afloat, which was taken in tow at 17.10 hours by the Soviet minesweeper T 117 and reached Liinahamaari the next day.
