HMS Upstart (Lt. P.C. Chapman, DSC and Bar, RN) departed Marseilles for La Maddalena. She made the passage together with the French submarine La Sultane (Lt. Javouhey). They were escorted by a USS PC 1597 (Lt. R.P. Harris, USNR). (1)
